A Migratory Experiment is a layered series of installations which focuses on the conservation of the Monarch butterfly and my own personal journey. I have developed a series of shows that will play out over the next few years. Each show is designed as an installation but each individual butterfly is for sale. My first show was in March of 2015. It focused on the beauty of letting go and setting free the attachments to our past. My second show opens in April of 2016 and I will be exploring spiritual freedom and transcending the boundaries of grief. Using the butterfly as a metaphor to show how its concerns do not lie at the chrysalis but they take flight on the idea that everyday is a gift. Additionally, this work educates the public on the dwindling population of the Monarch. A portion of all sales go to Monarch conservation organizations which aid in the awareness of planting native milkweed plants and educating the public on how everyone can do their part to help the Monarch thrive again.
